Located on the summit region of Red River Delta, Vinh Phuc province is the transition area between highland and plain, directly influenced by the economic development of Hanoi with many favorable conditions for economic development. In 3 consecutive years 2005, 2006 and 2007 Vinh Phuc PCI index (Perfect Competition Index) always in top of 64 cities of Viet Nam.

Being considered Northwest gateway of Hanoi, the region is part of the Hanoi regional development project, is tightly close to the Noi Bai international aeronautic port, is the departure point of Highway 18 to Cai Lan port, lies on the route of Highway 12 axis and Hanoi – Lao Cai railway, on the flow of Red River and is a significant waterway traffic.
